PETALING JAYA: Tomorrow’s planned #KerajaanGagal protest has now turned into an event to launch a campaign to highlight the government’s alleged failures.

The rally organisers said they will be announcing a series of activities as part of the nationwide campaign. The launch event will take place in Kuala Lumpur at 3pm tomorrow.

“After consulting with fellow activists who helped organise previous #KerajaanGagal protests, we have come to an agreement that it would be better to replace the protest tomorrow with the launch of a massive campaign against the government’s failures,” they said in a statement.

They said the purpose of the #KerajaanGagal campaign was to increase awareness regarding the government’s alleged failures in administering the country’s affairs, including the increase in the prices of goods.

The #KerajaanGagal movement began as a Twitter hashtag that received major traction across social media soon after Muhyiddin Yassin became the prime minister in March 2020.

It also held a protest in July last year over the government’s handling of the Covid-19 crisis.

Last month, the organisers announced that a #KerajaanGagal protest would take place on Aug 20.
