KUALA LUMPUR: A homeowner was left shocked and frustrated after a tenant skipped rent payments for half a year and left the property in a filthy, unliveable state.
Nik Zai Md Noor, the owner of the house, shared her ordeal on Facebook, describing the tenant as a "nightmare" who vanished without settling his dues or cleaning up the mess he left behind.
"Warning to everyone, do not rent to this man.
"He completely trashed my home. One of the rooms was filled with cat faeces and rotting food," she wrote in a post shared in the Rumah/Bilik Sewa Puncak Alam Facebook group.
She said the tenant failed to pay rent, electricity and water bills for six months.
When he finally vacated the premises, he left behind heaps of garbage and a massive cleanup headache.
Her post gained attention and sparked strong reactions from fellow users.
User Nurul Nadiah commented: "It's been six months that he hasn't paid rent and the owner still held on.
"In the end, the tenant ran off. The poor owner suffered a huge loss and now the house is damaged too.
"Next time, if someone doesn't pay rent for two months max, just ask them to leave."
User Lynn Daa added: "Oh my God, I was speechless seeing the condition of your house.
"This is truly a tenant from hell. He must have never taken out the trash the entire time he was living there.
"How could he even live in such filth?"
