KUALA LUMPUR: After a two-year hiatus, Indonesian singer Bunga Citra Lestari (BCL) recently staged her concert in Malaysia over the weekend.
βTitled BCL: Eternal Love β Timeless Romance, the show took the 2,000-strong audience at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre's Plenary Hall on an emotional journey through her personal love story.
βJust as she did at her 2023 show, BCL once again spoke about the most difficult chapter of her life: the passing of her beloved husband, Ashraf Sinclair, in 2020.
βPerforming her hit 'Wanita Terbahagia', BCL reminisced about her time with Ashraf, revealing that the song was a heartfelt dedication to him.
β"This song is for Ashraf. His presence, along with (their son) Noah, made me the happiest woman.
"But life doesn't always go as planned. Losing Ashraf was a shock that forced me to let go of my 'partner in crime' far too soon," she said, which was met with thunderous applause from the crowd.
βShe also reflected on her 12 years of marriage to Ashraf, which inspired her song '12 Tahun Terindah'.
"That chapter of my life taught me to cherish every moment with loved ones, because we never know when they will leave us," she added.
βHowever, the concert was not solely about loss.
The 42-year-old singer also shared her joy in finding love again after marrying Tiko Aryawardhana in Bali on Dec 2, 2023.
She expressed gratitude that both familiesβhers and Ashraf'sβhave embraced each other wholeheartedly.
β"The songs and videos tonight are not meant to make you cry. I just want to share my journeyβhow I've healed and begun a new chapter," she said.
βThe concert featured songs such as 'Ingkar', 'Selalu Ada di Nadimu', 'Memulai Kembali', 'Kerana Ku Cinta Kau', and 'Cinta Sejati'.
The evening's magic was enhanced by guest stars Fajar Noor, Jaclyn Victor, Yuna, and violinist Dennis Lau, making it a night to remember.
