SEOUL: The leader of K-pop giant BTS, RM, is leaving the prospect of finding his "Miss Right" to fate.

The 31-year-old singer recently shared his thoughts on relationships and marriage on Weverse.

He revealed that he has been feeling "a bit anxious and stressed" lately, something that "always happens whenever I am working on an album."

"I spend a lot of time alone, and I am not good at dealing with loneliness," he said.

"As we get older, we are supposed to become friends with ourselves and learn how to spend time alone, but I still cannot stay at home by myself."

RM added, "I feel like I still haven't matured. I think that's why people get marriedβ€”to find a partner, a lifelong friend to share various things with."

Reflecting on his parents' journey, he said: "I was three years old when my parents were my age now. Thinking about how they got married, had me, and raised me at that age, it's quite extraordinary."

While some of his friends are already married, RM noted that many others have chosen to remain single.

"If you meet the right person at the right time, perhaps you get married," he said.

"But it's still okay if you do not. I hope people can live life their own way. If you cannot handle loneliness, marriage is not the solution. Choosing marriage as a way out of loneliness is unreasonable."

RM confessed that he fears getting married and becoming a father, saying that taking care of himself is "difficult enough."

"I think about how many problems I caused my parents while growing up," he said.

He believes that people born in the 1990s are the first generation in South Korea to see marriage as a choice, not a necessity.

"Everyone should follow their own choice."

Netizens largely praised RM for his frank and honest take on both marriage and remaining single.

RM is currently preparing for his next major project: a joint exhibition with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, scheduled to take place from October 2026 to February 2027.
