#SHOWBIZ: Inteam's 25th anniversary concert: First nasyid group to headline Axiata Arena
KUALA LUMPUR: The popular Malaysian vocal group Inteam is set to become the first nasyid act to hold a solo concert at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.
The concert, titled '25 Tahun Inteam Nur Kasih', will be staged at the arena on Feb 1 next year to mark the group's 25th anniversary.
Organised by Icon Entertainment, the show marks a major milestone for the quartet, whose music has remained a staple in Malaysia's spiritual music landscape since their formation in 2000.
At a press conference held here yesterday, Icon Entertainment founder Iman Tang said the concert is more than just a musical performance; it is a tribute to Inteam's significant contribution to the local nasyid scene.
"As organisers, we celebrate artistes from various genres, including nasyid and spiritual music. This concert is special because it highlights Inteam's long journey, one that has remained relevant for a quarter of a century," he said.
Iman described the members of Inteam—Muhammad Hazamin Harun, Mohd Syahril Ab Khalid, Abdul Rahim Osman, and Hisyam Ahmad—as consistent figures in the local music industry who continue to create heartfelt works.
"Their songs are simple yet meaningful. Tracks like 'Nur Kasih', 'Dia', 'Kerana Cinta', and 'Kasih Kekasih' have stood the test of time," he said.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Hazamin said the concert symbolised the unbroken bond between Inteam and their fans.
"Praise be to God, after 25 years, we are still blessed with overwhelming support. At our previous concert, we had to change venues due to the unexpectedly huge turnout. That showed us how much love the fans still have for nasyid," he told reporters at the event.
Hazamin added that the anniversary concert is their way of expressing gratitude to those who have supported them from their early years until now.
"This concert is our way of saying thank you. We hope to create memories that will stay with our audience," he said.
Inteam, who first gained recognition through songs promoting love, compassion, and spirituality, has released numerous albums and continues to attract audiences of all ages.
Their upcoming concert is expected to feature some of their most popular hits, along with special collaborations and fresh arrangements tailored for the anniversary celebration.
