Rose of K-pop girl group Blackpink has been named as one of The 100 Most Influential People of 2025 by Time magazine.
The 28-year-old was selected as a Pioneer in the annual list published on April 16 in the United States.
Emily In Paris (2020 to present) star Lily Collins, 36, a self-professed Blackpink fan, or Blink, wrote about Roseβs inclusion on the list.
The pair met at a Saint Laurent fashion show in Paris in 2024.
The American actress sang the praises of Rose, calling her a βdynamic performer and songwriterβ and added she is βreally genuine and down to earthβ.
βI think itβs incredible that sheβs able to captivate arenas full of people as both a member of the biggest girl group in the world and also as a solo artiste,β Collins gushed, and touted the pop star as βthe definition of an icon and a bossβ.
She added, referencing two of Roseβs solo numbers: βHer voice is so strong and her music is so much fun β and I love texting her every time I hear Apt. or Toxic Till The End on the radio.
βI just adore Roseβs spirit and, really, everything about her. Iβm so proud of all the things sheβs done in the past year, and I feel so lucky to call her a friend.β
Rose responded to Collins over an Instagram Story and said: βThe sweetest Lily Collins, youβre gonna make me cry.β
The K-pop singer thanked and tagged Time magazine in an Instagram Story, writing: βWhat a wild thing to wake up to.β
Other artistes selected by Time as influential figures in 2025 include English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, and American acting talents Scarlett Johansson and Adam Scott.
Rose, whose full name is Roseanne Park, released her debut solo studio album Rosie in December 2024. It included the songs Apt. and Toxic Till The End.
The former, a catchy tune collaboration with American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, was released earlier in October and quickly went viral.
The smash hit has stayed on Billboardβs Hot 100 for 25 weeks consecutively, and is currently ranked No.13 on the chart dated April 19. It peaked at No.3 in February. The songβs music video broke a billion views on YouTube in January, becoming the fifth-fastest MV to achieve this milestone.
Aside from solo achievements, Rose will reunite with her Blackpink bandmates Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo for a world tour that kicks off in Seoul in July.
Rose was recently spotted showing her support for Lisa and Jennie at their solo Coachella outings during the first leg of the American music festival held in California from April 11 to 13. Rose posted on Instagram photos and videos of herself and Lisa at Jennieβs set, dancing and singing in the audience.
In a clip posted by MTV UK, Rose also interviewed Lisa about her debut solo Coachella outing, while sitting on Lisaβs lap. β The Straits Times/Asia News Network
