Malaysia’s TVET contingent wins 17 medals at WorldSkills Asia Taipei 2025, securing third place overall and proving world-class skills

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s third-place finish at WorldSkills Asia (WSA) Taipei 2025 is proof of the nation’s prowess in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the achievement demonstrates that Malaysian TVET youth possess world-class skills.

He stated the success elevates the dignity of TVET as a driver of national skills to a higher regional level.

“Alhamdulillah, another sweet and proud achievement for Malaysia, thus proving that our TVET youth possess world-class skills and are capable of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the best countries in Asia,” he said in a Facebook post.

Ahmad Zahid, who chairs the National TVET Council, said the victory opens a new chapter in the country’s skills development.

The Malaysian contingent won 17 medals overall at the competition.

This haul included five gold, five silver, four bronze, and three Medallions for Excellence.

A total of 25 national TVET participants competed in the event from November 27 to 30.

The Taipei edition featured over 500 participants from more than 35 Asian countries and regions.

“Malaysia Boleh! You’ve made Malaysia proud!” Ahmad Zahid added. – Bernama
