HUAWEI unveiled its latest innovations at the "Now is Your Run" global product launch event in Madrid, Spain on Feb 26.
The event showcased new innovations, including the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5, HUAWEI Watch Ultimate 2 in Green and HUAWEI Band 11 Series.
The smartphone category sees the long-awaited return of the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, marking HUAWEI’s reintroduction of the Mate Series to Malaysia since the last launch of the HUAWEI Mate 50 in 2022.
As a cornerstone of HUAWEI's flagship series, the device features the new iconic Dual Space Rings Design — a sophisticated evolution that refines classic aesthetics with a modern style.
The camera system has also undergone a significant upgrade. The True-to-Colour camera system is engineered to deliver remarkable advancements in colour reproduction and dynamic capture capabilities.
HUAWEI also introduced the AI Composition, which suggests optimal crop or zoom adjustments and overlays subtle composition hints directly within the viewfinder, intelligently assisting users in framing their shots with greater precision.
Meanwhile, AI Smart Control enables users to instantly access their favourite AI apps with just a double tap of the lock button, adding convenience to everyday use.
A new era of visual authenticity
The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro’s defining slogan, “See It True,” encapsulates its mission to redefine how users perceive the world.
Featuring a True-to-Colour camera system, the device ensures lifelike colour accuracy, making every moment vivid and authentic — whether in low light, high-saturation, or backlit conditions.
With AI-powered features, including AI Composition, AI Remove and AI Best Expression, the Mate 80 Pro elevates mobile photography, offering creative possibilities and effortless image perfection.
Ingenious design
The Mate 80 Pro continues HUAWEI’s tradition of superior craftsmanship, now featuring the Dual Space Ring Design.
This reimagined design merges iconic form with bold innovation, while offering elegant colour options inspired by nature: Gold, Green and Black.
Designed with the latest Second Generation Kunlun Glass and vegan fiber, the device combines strength with elegance.
Built to withstand daily wear, it also boasts IP68 water resistance (up to six metres depth) and IP69 high-temperature and high-pressure water jet resistance making it as durable as it is stylish.
Experience the world in high definition with the new HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro.
Imaging system with AI features
At the heart of the Mate 80 Pro’s visual capabilities is the 50 MP Ultra Lighting Camera featuring a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, paired with a 48 MP Ultra Lighting Telephoto Macro Lens with four times optical zoom and a 40 MP Ultra-wide Angle Camera, offering a powerful triple-camera setup.
The True-to-Colour Camera System overcomes the longstanding challenge of colour reproduction across varied lighting, delivering consistent, true-to-life colours in any environment.
Compared with the previous generation, the pixel size increased from 1.75 μm to 2.45 μm, boosting light intake by 96%. This ensures more accurate, nuanced colour and detail, even in low light. Equipped with DCG HDR technology and a 4×4 Spectral Pattern, the device ensures unparalleled colour accuracy and precision across various lighting environments.
Whether capturing distant landscapes or intricate macro shots, the Mate 80 Pro’s telephoto macro focus allows users to explore the world from multiple perspectives while Slow Motion functionality brings every dazzling moment to life in stunning detail.
Pro photographer in your pocket
AI Composition turns you into an instant professional.
The feature analyses the scene in real time — assessing subjects, lines, light and balance — to intelligently guide your framing.
It suggests the perfect crop or zoom and overlays subtle composition hints directly in the viewfinder.
No rules to memorise, or endless adjustments needed — just frame your shot, follow the smart recommendations and capture stunning, magazine-quality photos every time.
Enhanced performance
The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro features a 5750 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired SuperCharge and 80 W wireless SuperCharge, ensuring all-day power with minimal downtime.
Paired with a SuperCool Dual Phase Change Heat Dissipation System, the device stays cool under pressure, even during intensive tasks like gaming and live streaming.
Backed by HUAWEI’s Ark Engine, the Mate 80 Pro delivers improved system responsiveness, reducing app load times by 18% and boosting performance by 11%, ensuring a seamless user experience.
AI empowerment
Designed to simplify daily tasks, the Mate 80 Pro leverages intelligent features like AI Remove, AI Best Expression and AI Noise Cancellation for clear, vibrant photos and smooth, hassle-free communication.
The device’s 3D ToF Face Unlock and AI Gesture Sensor offer advanced security and intuitive, touchless interaction, ensuring a smarter, more convenient mobile experience.
