KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 — The body of a 26-year-old Malaysian man who was allegedly stabbed to death during a group fight in South Korea will be brought home once the necessary documentation and repatriation procedures are completed.
The victim, Ahmad Shah, died following the incident in Eumseong County, North Chungcheong Province. His family said a post-mortem examination has been completed, and all required documents have been submitted to facilitate the return of his body to Malaysia.
According to the victim's sister, the family is still awaiting confirmation from the Malaysian Embassy in South Korea before a date for the repatriation can be finalised.
The family was informed of Ahmad Shah's death by his wife in the early hours of the morning following the incident.
South Korean authorities have reportedly detained a Malaysian man in his 40s to assist investigations. Police believe the suspect was involved in a large fight between two groups before allegedly stabbing the victim with a knife.
The incident is said to have occurred at around 3am in Daeso-eup, Eumseong County, with about 10 individuals believed to have been involved in the altercation.
