Kanye West says he became addicted to nitrous oxide, and intends to sue his former dentist for enabling the rapperβs own βunsupervisedβ use of N2O gas, which Ye says affected his relationship with Bianca Censori.
Lawyers for the 47-year-old rapper sent a notice of intention to sue Dr Thomas P. Connelly, whose βinappropriateβ actions they say caused physical, psychological and financial issues, according to TMZ.
Yeβs attorneys say Connelly βengaged in numerous inappropriate and dangerous practices that were far outside the bounds of any legitimate medical purpose or standard of care,β the outlet reports.
That allegedly includes giving Ye ample amounts of the gas for non-medical purposes, as well as enabling and encouraging him to self-administer nitrous β or charging West for it β even as the rapper displayed βadverse neurological and behavioral signs,β including dependency on the gas. This allegedly affected Yeβs ability to provide companionship to wife Censori, from whom he reportedly split earlier this year.
Yeβs lawyers claim Connelly started treating the Yeezy designer in early 2024, but upon seeing said dependency, stopped treating the Grammy winner βwithout a proper transition,β according to TMZ.
Back in August, Connelly denied allegations he sold Ye nitrous for recreational use, claims made by the rapperβs former chief of staff, ex-Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, who reportedly parted ways with Ye in May 2024.
Yeβs erratic and offensive behaviour, including antisemitic and racist screeds, far predate when he says he became a patient of Connellyβs.
Ye and Censori sparked reconciliation rumours in recent weeks when they spent time together dining out and shopping at a Spanish sex store.
The notice to Connelly comes on the heels of more bizarre behaviour from Ye, who last week claimed he and his cousin shared an incestuous relationship as kids. β New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
