Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025, set to take place in October, will be an official event for the Asean Summit.
State investment, trade and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the annual event hosted by Invest Selangor Bhd (ISB) was expected to attract 50,000 visitors and host over 700 booths.
The ninth edition of the conference, which brings together global brands and industry players from around the world, is scheduled for Oct 8 to 11 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
SIBS 2025 will feature expos on food and beverage, investment and industrial park developments, smart city and digital economy, aerospace, and care economy as well as high-level business conferences.
The food and beverage exhibition, which generated RM300.4mil of potential transactions last year, was expected to have some 250 booths, Ng said at a press conference announcing SIBS 2025 at Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building in Shah Alam.
“We will be inviting buyers from supermarkets and hypermarkets. We want exhibitors to be able to deal directly with these buyers.
“We are also not limiting it to Selangor-based companies.
“This is basically an interÂnational expo in which exhiÂbitors from other Asean countries will be participating,” said Ng.
The investment and industrial park developments expo, which generated RM12.2bil in transactions in 2024, will feature over 239 booths this year.
This segment aims to connect property developers, investors and manufacturers.
Selangor women, family empowerment, social welfare and care economy committee chairman Anfaal Saari said the expo would be the first of its kind in Malaysia and Asean.
“A new feature at SIBS 2025 is the care summit that will feature expert forums, panel discussions and an exhibition with about 80 booths.
“Among the highlights will be the kind of assistive technology that will be available.
“There will also be a module run by a non-governmental organisation, which will give pointers to caregivers on how to reduce pain from having to lift bedridden patients.
“Also present will be university academics who will be presenting their findings and research,” she added.
A gala dinner has also been planned to recognise caregivers.
Anfaal listed NCT Smart Industrial Park, Sime Darby Bhd, Eco World Malaysia, IOI Corp Bhd, Selangor State Development Corp, Sunway Bhd and Seri Pajam Development among the participants.
As for the aerospace segment, discussion topics will include maintenance, repair and operations in aero manufacturing.
Alongside these will be special sessions on industry talent needs and new initiatives like sustainable aviation fuel.
Entry to SIBS 2025 is free for the public.
