Body of teacher believed dead for a month found in Selesa Jaya home

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The decomposed body of a 39-year-old teacher, believed dead for about a month, was discovered in her home in Bandar Selesa Jaya here last week.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said the victim's neighbours alerted police at 8.06pm on June 12 after they detected a foul odour coming from the woman's house.
A post-mortem examination conducted could not ascertained the cause of death due to the advanced level of decomposition, he said.
"The teacher is believed to have died about one month prior. Investigations found that she had not reported for work since Sept 24 last year," said Kumarasan.
The woman, who was unmarried, worked at a school in Taman Tunku Aminah and was living alone at the time of her death.
Police are currently tracing her next-of-kin, said Kumarasan.
"The case has been classified as a sudden death report. No criminal elements were detected," he added.
