SEREMBAN: A 31-second dashcam video of a terrifying near-miss accident in Forest Heights, Seremban, is making waves online after a lorry lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, narrowly missing two multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs).
The heart-stopping incident happened about 6pm yesterday and was captured by a motorist driving behind the two MPVs.
In the now-viral footage posted by Twitter account #UpdateInfo, a fully loaded lorry can be seen careening out of control before crashing onto the opposite lane and ploughing into a roadside lamp post.
The tall structure crumpled instantly, sparks flying as it crashed to the ground, just moments after the two MPVs had passed.
So far, the video has been viewed over 4,000 times, with netizens calling the escape a "miracle" and a "scene straight out of an action movie".
"If the MPVs had been just a second slower, we'd be looking at a completely different outcome," said one Twitter user.
Another wrote, "That's a close call," and one other praised the MPV drivers for their quick action.
From the video, it appears as if the lorry was heading uphill near the Forest Heights junction when the driver appeared to lose control.
The vehicle was seen swerving violently before it jumped the divider and took down the streetlamp before skidding to a halt.
Both MPV drivers managed to brake and swerve just in time to avoid a direct hit. Miraculously, no injuries were reported.
