ALOR SETAR: Members of the public are advised not to be alarmed if they observe an increased security presence, sirens, or emergency response activity at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport today.
This is due to a full-scale emergency drill, 'Ex Tebuan', taking place from 9am to 2pm, involving multiple agencies including the security forces, medical teams, fire and rescue services, and airport management personnel.
Airport manager Ikram Alif Mansoor said the exercise was designed to test the preparedness, coordination, and efficiency of all agencies in responding to potential aviation-related emergencies.
"We urge the public not to be concerned if they witness the movement of security personnel, ambulances, fire engines, or hear sirens during the drill," he said in a statement.
Malaysia Airports assured that flight operations would not be disrupted by the exercise.
"You may hear loud noises or notice a heightened security presence, but don't worry β it's only a drill," the airport operator posted on its official Facebook page yesterday.
The public is also reminded not to take or share photos or videos of the exercise to prevent unnecessary confusion.
