KUALA LUMPUR: What began as a quiet moment of rest on a Sydney beach turned into a life-threatening ordeal for Aimi Nasruddin.
But it was the voice of Malaysia's most beloved singer that brought him back.
Aimi, who suffered a sudden heart attack while visiting Bondi Beach on July 9, had been in a coma for five days at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney.
In a remarkable turn of events, it was a voice message from his idol, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, that triggered his first signs of recovery.
The 33-year-old, who shared his emotional experience on Instagram, recalled the moment that changed everything.
"I sat down to rest and then suddenly passed out. I lost consciousness and was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital for further treatment," he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
Doctors were monitoring his condition closely when a message of hope arrived — Siti Nurhaliza's voice, filled with words of strength and prayer.
His father, desperate to reach him emotionally, had reached out to contacts to obtain a personal message from the singer. In a stroke of luck, he received the recording within an hour.
"The moment I heard the voice message, my right hand began to make small movements. The doctors described it as a positive response," Aimi said.
The message from Siti carried heartfelt encouragement and spiritual advice, which seemed to stir something deep within him.
"Aimi, recite selawat frequently, say istighfar, as it can ease the pain. Don't stop doing zikir. Be strong. Aimi, don't give up. Thank you for supporting Kak Siti all this while. God willing, Aimi, you can get through this."
That message, he said, was a turning point.
Now safely back in Malaysia, Aimi is gradually returning to his normal routine — back at work and even driving again. He credits his recovery to divine will, the prayers of loved ones, and that powerful voice note.
"Today (yesterday) marks exactly 20 days since the incident. Alhamdulillah, I'm back at work and able to drive as usual. I see this as a blessing and a miracle from Allah SWT," he said.
His story, shared via Instagram Story, has since gone viral, drawing praise from netizens and fans of the singer alike.
More than a recovery, Aimi's experience is a testament to the power of faith, music — and the human will to survive.
